The Greatest Generation      also known as the G.I. Generation, is the generation that includes the veterans who fought in World War II.

The Silent Generation      born 1925 to 1945, is the generation that includes those who were too young to join the service during World War II

A Baby Boomer      is a person who was born during the demographic Post-World War II baby boom and who grew up during the period between 1946 and 1964.

Generation Y      (also known as the Millennials, Generation Next, Net Generation, Echo Boomers) describes the demographic following Generation X. There are no precise dates for when the Millennial generation starts and ends, and commentators have used birth dates ranging somewhere from the mid-1970's to the early 2000's. Members of this generation are called Echo Boomers

Generation Z      (also known as Generation M, the Net Generation, or the Internet Generation) is a common name in the US and other Western nations for the group of people born from the early 2000s through to the present

Generationism      is the belief that a specific generation has inherent traits which may be labeled inferior or superior to the traits of another generation. The term is usually applied to claims of superiority in the expressed values, valuations, lifestyles and general beliefs of one generation compared to those of another, where objectively verifiable criteria substantiating the claim of superiority in themselves are lacking.
